Hackers hack into PlayStation3

So If your a playstation3 user and you went on the network around the 20th of April, you probably noticed that there was something wrong. Apparently the network got hacked and was down for more over a week.

Sony's PlayStation network can be used to play video games online, watch TV, or rent movies. It is used by about 77 million users and the company announced at the end of March that it had sold 50 million of its latest PlayStation 3 consoles.

So all records on names, passwords, locations and even credit card information is probably stolen  from over millions of users of the Playstation network.

I do not own a PlayStation 3 yet so I did not really had to deal with it, but I do have an Xbox 360 and could image if information was stolen or if it would be down for that long time that I would be pretty dissapointed to say the least... I mean millions of users trust the PS-company to make profiles then add private information, adresses, phonenumbers, creditcard info and then all of a sudden a network this big gets hacked into just like that ? That's not very good is it ? What are your regards concerning the PS-network hack ? Did you have any trouble with it and do You think other online networks will take their warning out of it ?
Or will it be just like: when the company brings out a patch of update that hackers will just hack and decode it again like a viscous circle ?
